  • Recording Hollie Smith's Rendition of Bob Marley's 'No Woman, No Cry'


    In August 2016 we were fortunate enough to have the very talented Hollie Smith in the studio to record her rendition of Bob Marley's classic tune 'No Woman, No Cry'. The track was set to feature on a compilation released by Universal New Zealand and would consist of cover versions of many Bob Marley classics, all performed by New Zealand artists. Hollie's version of 'No Woman, No Cry' is a stripped back approach and showcases a fantastic arrangement with stunning musicianship. Backed by a haunting solitary bass guitar track provided by Marika Hodgson and a small group of choral voices including local legend Annie Crummer, the track is a listening experience that ensure's goosebumps.

    Recorded here at Silverpoint Studios in November 2016, Vertigo released their 'Feels Unreal' EP on the 13th of January, 2016.
